Hands up if you were a fan of D. Gray-man since it aired in 2006 and when it ended. Imagine the look on my face(and my friend’s) when we received the news around last year that D. Gray-man was having another season. We were like ‘What?! It’s been years…holy.’ Yep, we teared. However, like I said, it had been years since we watched it and the storyline has become a bit fuzzy in my mind from the last episode.
The last thing I remembered was Lenalee leveling up into a Crystal-Type Innocence where she swallowed her Innocence and literally bled her legs out to form her red boots. It left a big impression on me. It was super cool. Then she and Allen fought the level 4 Akuma and I think the anime ended there with the rest of the characters happily together.
The thing is, I forgot what the whole anime’s mission was. I remember only bits and pieces of the anime but I literally forgot the whole thing in general haha(I am getting old). Hence, this is why the title ‘D. Gray Man First, Hallow Later’. I would like to watch back the whole series from the beginning and then start watching Hallow after that.
I mean, I didn’t want to confuse myself with ‘Oh? Did this happen back then?’ or ‘Hmm…this information sounds familiar.’ Nope. Absolutely not. I want a solid memory and knowledge on what I am watching, especially towards an anime that I loved since young.
Therefore! It’s D. Gray-man marathon timeeeee. *flails hands in the air*
Ciao!

That sounds like fun. When I first heard D Gray Man was going to get a continuation I started watching the original in bits and pieces just to remind myself of what happened (given it had been 2 years since the last time I’d watched the whole series through). That said, D Gray Man was one of my constant rewatch animes for a long time so I kind of remembered most of the plot, though a few of the characters are straining my memory (particularly now that they don’t quite look the same).
Hope you enjoy your marathon.

I agree with you that a few don’t look quite the same, adding on that most of the characters’ seiyuu changed(which is saddening). But yes, I will enjoy my marathon, thank you!
